William Hanuschock

Throughout the course of this 9 weeks I have made 7 ceramics pieces. When I had my first ceramics class last 9 weeks, I was very inspired by the advanced ceramics students and all their great work. Now that I am in advanced ceramics I am still inspired by my fellow advanced ceramics classmates. The main skill I focused on was wheel work, trying to prefect the techniques of centering, trimming, and pulling. I chose the pinch pots and the wheel candle holder because they show my progress within and throughout ceramics. Personally I felt most successful with pinch forming. The only thing I would change would be to know what color the glazes turn out once they are fired, I'm not a big fan of guessing. Within ceramics the main thing I struggled with was the wheel, mainly with centering. But throughout everything in ceramics is learned the most from my fellow advanced students including: the proper way to center and to be patient with my work. Ceramics has been one of my favorite courses throughout my whole high school career, it has a very relaxed atmosphere, while being very educational.
